The World Sports Health (WSH) Elite football academy will conduct a tactical and technical training camp for kids where young players will be scouted to attend a soccer showcase conducted by European coaches in South Africa. The WSH Elite Academy director Evans Chief said the training will be conducted at Hope Centre and Marist University scheduled to take place on the two weekends of November 22-23 and November 29-30, 2025 in Nairobi. The training will be conducted by former Kenyan Premier League (KPL) players who have taken up coaching attached to the WSH Academy where they will pick the two most outstanding players for the football showcase. The available age group categories for the program are under 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 with limited slots on offer. Chief said that during the clinic they will also recruit talented players that will feature for the academy’s teams that will feature in the second edition of the WSH Elite Cup an African continental showpiece to be staged at Camp Discovery in Pretoria on December 4-14, 2025 in South Africa. . The WSH Elite Cup will offer the kids a chance to interact and play with South African Premier League clubs Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs junior teams featuring in the WSH Cup for exposure. “At the technical training camp, We aim to train then evaluate and identify top-level players, who will then be invited to showcase their abilities in front of a pool of professional European coaches as others join our academy age group teams for Africa WSH Elite Cup in South Africa. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and in an effort to attract potential players and ensure a high-quality event, “ said Chief. The participation fee for the technical training is Ksh20, 000 per player. The players will also have their skills and fitness evaluated by our team of expert coaches. These evaluations will provide players with valuable feedback on their strengths and weaknesses and help them identify areas for improvement, “said Chief. The Showcase is one of the world’s largest recruitment events for kids under the ages of 11 to 23-year-old soccer players. The showcase will have a team comprising of staff from several European countries to provide all necessary support and guarantee the players the opportunity to partake in an international and unique experience. Throughout the entire event, the players will be at the disposal of the coaches as well as the scouts from the seven participating clubs, who will be evaluating them both on and off the field. The selected players will not only attend an official trial at one of the Spanish clubs’ facilities, but they will also have the chance to sign a professional contract with a club. The football showcase provides an immersive and intensive experience that is designed to help players improve their skills, gain exposure, and take their careers to the next level.
