I accept your nomination to be your presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election
The rebranded opposition party Wiper Patriotic Front (WPS) has endorsed former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka as its torch bearer in the country’s next presidential elections scheduled for the year 2027. Kalonzo was unanimously endorsed to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential elections during the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) hosted at the historic Uhuru Park in Nairobi on Friday, October 10, 2025. “With a deep sense of duty and high resolve, I accept your nomination to be your presidential candidate for 2027 General Election. I accept it with a full and grateful heart - without reservation - and with only one obligation - the obligation to devote every effort of body, mind and spirit to lead this exceptional Patriotic Front to victory and restore hope and stability to our beloved Nation. Let me however, take a moment to thank our Almighty God, who has been my guide. Without him, I will not be here,” said Kalonzo in his acceptance speech. Kalonzo said that he has taken up the challenge in order to lead a revolution of hope and restore the dignity of Kenyans which has been lost under President William Ruto led Kenya Kwanza and broad based government. He said Under a ”Patriotic Administration”, they shall build a nation that works for all, not for a select few. “I stand here to tell you: we are not doomed. Kenya can rise again and will rise again. Hope is alive, and together, we shall reclaim our country, rebuild our economy, and restore dignity to every household,” he said. Kalonzo pledged that under his Patriotic Front government will deliver a 24-hour economy, lower the cost of living, cut unnecessary taxes such as the punitive Affordable Housing Levy, create real jobs for the youth, offer affordable, quality healthcare for all, ensure no child should ever be denied education because of poverty, From the Lamu to Kiambu, Isiolo to Bungoma, from Nairobi to Kisumu, from Wote to Turkana, from Tharaka to Kajiado, from Mombasa to Meru, and from Sugoi to Tseikuru, we all deserve dignity, justice, and honest leadership. Together, we shall bring it to life. He vowed to build a just, safe society, of equal opportunities, a united Kenya by bringing to an end police brutality, protect freedoms of expression with no more abductions as he unites Kenyans across all communities with honest leadership. “These are not empty promises; they are concrete plans. Practical, people-centred, and achievable. This is what a Kalonzo Musyoka-led Administration will stand for — justice, opportunity, and dignity for all,” he declared. He added: "From Lamu to Kiambu, Isiolo to Bungoma, from Nairobi to Kisumu, from Wote to Turkana, from Tharaka to Kajiado, from Mombasa to Meru, and from Sugoi to Tseikuru, we all deserve dignity, justice, and honest leadership. Together, we shall bring it to life.” The coronation of the former VP and two times presidential running-mate of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as graced and witnessed by the United Opposition principals including Kenya's second Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, ex-Attorney General Justin Muturi of the Democratic Party (DP), former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa (Democratic Action Party of Kenya), ex-Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi (Jubilee) and former Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Martha Karua.
