Weatherman: Rains Expected in Eight Counties as Most Parts Stay Dry

Eight counties in Kenya are expected to experience rainfall as most parts will remain generally dry between August 13 and 20, according to the Kenya Meteorological Service.

The weather outlook indicates that Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kericho, Nyandarua and Nyeri may receive rainfall during the period.

In its rainfall forecast for this week, the Kenya Meteorological Service said most parts of the country would experience generally dry conditions.

“Most parts of the country are expected to be generally dry,” the service said.

The forecast places the eight counties among areas that could receive rainfall during the period, while several other counties are expected to experience intermittent cool and cloudy conditions.

The cool and cloudy conditions are expected in parts of Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Marsabit and Wajir counties.

Nyandarua and Nyeri are therefore included in both categories, with the forecast indicating that the counties may receive rainfall while also experiencing intermittent cool and cloudy conditions in some areas.

Residents in the counties forecast to receive rainfall can expect changes from the predominantly dry conditions experienced across much of the country, while those in areas expected to remain cool and cloudy may experience lower temperatures and increased cloud cover.
