Tusker Fc Beat Sofapaka to Go Joint Top of Sportpesa Premier League

Tusker FC beat Sofapaka 2-0 to make it three wins in a row to shoot to joint top of the SportPesa League on Sunday, 14 December at the Moi International Sports centre, Kasarani Annex in Nairobi. Ian Simiyu, who was the only change for Charles Okere’s side, netted twice in eight second half minutes, giving The Brewers their third consecutive win, which took them level with league-leaders Kenya Police on 21 points, but only second due to an inferior goal difference after 13 rounds of the top-flight campaign. While Tusker celebrated their third straight triumph, Ezekiel Akwana’s side saw their struggles deepen, extending their winless run to five SportPesa League matches with just one point taken from that period (4L, 1D). Sofapaka, who were high-flying last season and even thrashed Tusker during that campaign 7-1, have now dropped to 17th place with 12 points from a possible 36.
