Tusker FC head coach Julien Mette received a red card during the opening match of the 2026–2027 SportPesa Football Kenya Federation Premier League season as Tusker secured a 2-0 win against Ulinzi Stars at the Lang'ata Complex

Tusker struck twice in the second half through through Alvin Mang'eni and Victor Mbaoma to secure maximum points in a contest that saw coach Julien Mette was sent off.

The French coach Mette would then see a red card later in the half becoming the first tactician to be sent off in the campaign.

Following the results, Shabana's stay at the top of the league standings after pipping Posta Rangers 1-0 on Saturday evening at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga was short-lived by the brewers who are now enjoying a superior goal difference.

Before that fixture, Tusker had won the previous two encounters, securing 1-0 victories in both December 2025 and January 2025.

Nairobi United 2 KCB 2

The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB FC) struck late, forcing Nairobi United to settle for a 2-2 draw in an FKF Premier League match played on Sunday at Police Sacco Grounds.

With Nairobi leading 2-1, and on the cusp of three points, Nairobi United goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo held on the ball for more than eight seconds forcing the referee to award KCB a corner.

The time wasting antics would prove costly as Geoffrey Ojung'a scored from the resultant corner to deny the 2025 FKF Cup champions maximum points.

The result also denied returning Belgian coach Patrick Aussems what would have been a bright start at his second stint in the competition and first one at Nairobi United.

Migori Youth 1 Kenya Police FC 1

Migori Youth FC announced their arrival in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the 2024/25 league champions Kenya Police FC at Awendo Green Stadium on Sunday, 11 October.

Vincent Wanga put the hosts ahead inside the opening five minutes before Brian Otieno struck for Kenya Police just before half-time.

3K FC 2 Mara Sugar 2

In another fixture involving a newly promoted side, Mozzart Bet-sponsored 3K FC also shared the points after playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw against the 2025 FKF Cup semi finalists Mara Sugar at Moi Stadium, Embu.
