Stadiums can integrate AI to enhance security, Hussein Mohammed says

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has said that as the Artificial Intelligence technology advances, modern stadiums should leverage on the innovations to boost safety and security in stadiums during sporting activities. According to Hussein, by integrating AI-powered CCTV systems, stadium security systems will be able to better and more effectively detect potential security threats. Hussein believes that regions like Hong Kong which are already integrating AI-driven surveillance in schools, making them smart enough to monitor playing areas and raise alarms immediately in case of accidents is a good example that should be emulated at major modern stadiums around the world, Kenya included. In Kenya, crowd trouble has for long been an incessant problem that faces local leagues with violent clashes causing untold destruction, injuries and loss of lives due to security lapses during high security league matches. Hussein believes stadium security can be better managed if Kenya's stadia management in liaison with the FKF integrate the use of AI in managing security situations during matches to boost security and safety for both the players, match officials and fans alike. "As AI technology advances, regions like Hong Kong are already integrating AI-driven surveillance in schools, making them smart enough to monitor playing areas and raise alarms immediately in case of accidents. Modern stadiums should leverage on these innovations to boost security and safety in the stadiums by integrating AI-powered CCTV systems to detect potential security threats," Hussein said. "This will enhance safety for spectators and the players allowing for quick response to incidents, reducing risk and impact," He added. With the integration of AI in stadiums, there will be improved security which will increase the number of spectators in the stadium. AI powered surveillance is not just about security, it is about enhancing the overall fan experience. By minimizing disruptions and ensuring swift incident response, stadiums can create a more enjoyable and seamless experience for spectators.
