Smirnoff Sound Nation Debuts in Eldoret
ELDORET, KENYA, 21 September 2026: Kenya’s music culture has never stood still. From Gengetone to Arbantone, hip-hop to Amapiano, Afrohouse, R&B and Oontz, every generation has added a new sound, style and energy to the country’s music story.
That evolution came to life this weekend as Smirnoff officially launched Smirnoff Sound Nation at Tamasha Eldoret, marking the first stop in a nationwide series of music and culture experiences set to roll out across Kenya.
The event gave consumers and music lovers a chance to discover new sounds, revisit familiar favourites and experience how different musical influences continue to shape one another.
Popular DJs Gibbz Daqchild, Daffy, Kaytrixx and Kryptic headlined the event, joined by MC Gogo, delivering a mix of sounds and genres that reflected the diversity of Kenya’s music culture.
"Kenyan music has always evolved, and that evolution is part of what makes our culture exciting. Smirnoff Sound Nation celebrates that journey and gives consumers an experience where different sounds, generations and musical influences can come together in one space,” says Veronicah Waweru, Brand and Innovation Manager at East Breweries Limited (EABL).
Sound Nation builds on Smirnoff’s Why Change A Good Thing campaign, which celebrates how culture, music and social experiences can evolve while retaining the energy and connections people already love.
Reflected in Kenya’s music scene, which has consistently reinvented itself as new genres, influences and listening cultures emerge, from the rise of Gengetone and Arbantone to the growing influence of Amapiano, Afrohouse and other contemporary sounds, each era has added a new layer to the country’s musical identity.
Beyond the performances, the Eldoret launch captured the shared moments that make music experiences memorable: discovering a track for the first time, hearing an old favourite differently, moving between genres and connecting with people through a common experience.
Following Eldoret, the experience will travel to the Mountain region, Nairobi, the Lake region and the Coast, with each stop bringing its own local vibe, line-up, energy and sound while contributing to a wider celebration of Kenya’s evolving music culture.
