Sifuna, Orengo and Babu Owino to Urged Engage Gachagua ahead of 2027

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has called on Linda Mwananchi movement leaders Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo, and Babu Owino to initiate dialogue with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the Linda Mwananchi political rally at Kivulini Grounds in Thika on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Kang’ata said Kenya’s political future required broad-based consultations aimed at improving governance, employment creation, healthcare, and education.

“Sasa nimeambia huyu rafiki yangu Sifuna, wakiwa na Babu Owino na Orengo, watafute Wamunyoro,” Kang’ata said.

He emphasised that his appeal was not driven by political rivalry but by what he described as the need for a better Kenya that works for all citizens.

“Mimi hakuna kitu nataka. I only want a better Kenya,” he added.

Kang’ata outlined key areas he believes should guide national conversations ahead of the next election, including youth employment, improved healthcare systems, and stronger education outcomes.

“Kenya ambayo tunacreate employment kwa vijana wetu. Kenya ambayo itacreate a better healthcare. A Kenya which is going to create a better education system so that vijana wetu wote wapate kazi,” he said.

His remarks were made in the presence of several opposition-aligned leaders and supporters attending the ongoing Linda Mwananchi political tour, which has been traversing various parts of the country, mobilising support ahead of 2027.

The call for dialogue comes at a time when political leaders across different camps are increasingly signalling possible negotiations and alliances ahead of the next general election.

Kang’ata’s remarks are likely to fuel speculation about shifting political dynamics, particularly as opposition figures continue to consolidate their messaging under the Linda Mwananchi movement.

The movement, which includes leaders such as Sifuna and other opposition voices, has been positioning itself as a platform for political reform and government accountability.
