Under the GCK, an environmentally friendly economy will ensure that Government extension services serve the common man. Food security will be a national security and it will be possible to build a resilient agricultural sector that feeds Kenya.
The future of the Kenyan economy can be transformed through an environmental revolution where farmers are empowered to spearhead a change in food security and agroecological economic revolution.
According to the Green Congress of Kenya Party Leader Hillary Alila, Kenya’s economical progress can be grown from the soil up, thereby securing Kenya’s food security and economic future well-being.
In his week-long sustained campaign to educate Kenyans on a shift to a green economy, Alila noted that his Green Congress of Kenya party has plans to empower the farmers who are the backbone of Kenya’s economy.
“To our farmers, the backbone of our nation, we see you. We see the challenges of unpredictable rains and rising costs. Our plan is to empower you with seeds and soil such that collectively, we can promote drought resistant indigenous crops and agroecological practices that enrich the soil,” Alila noted.
The Green Congress of Kenya party leader further explained that by empowering farmers in the green economy, Markets and Money will be improved by ensuring there are set fair prices and connecting farmers directly to consumers.
The Green Congress of Kenya (GCK) government, under the visionary leadership of Alila, will place environmental restoration at the heart of national transformation.
Alila notes that GCK will ensure from the towering peaks of Mount Kenya to the endless beauty of Lake Turkana, a GCK government will safeguard Kenya’s natural wealth of Kenya’s forests, rivers, and wildlife as the foundation of the nation’s prosperity.
“The Green Congress of Kenya believes that a thriving economy and a healthy environment go hand in hand. Together, we will restore our land, revive our rivers, and rebuild a sustainable future for all. My love for this nation is not just a sentiment; it is a commitment. A commitment to fostering a Kenya where every child has a chance to dream, every farmer reaps the rewards of their labour, and every entrepreneur finds opportunity,” Alila adds.
Under the GCK, an environmentally friendly economy will ensure that Government extension services serve the common man. Food security will be a national security and it will be possible to build a resilient agricultural sector that feeds Kenya.
Alila added that Kenya’s water towers, the rivers and forests are the country’s future and his administration under the Green Congress government will champion community-led forest conservation and reforestation. He emphasized that the government will hold polluters of water sources accountable with strict laws and invest in protecting wildlife and national parks as vital economic assets.
“We cannot build a prosperous future on a depleted and poisoned land. Our commitment is to be faithful stewards of God's creation. From the mountains of Mt. Kenya to the shores of Lake Turkana, our natural heritage is our lifeblood. Yet, our forests are shrinking and our rivers are polluted. The future of our rivers, forests, and land depends on the choices we make today. Under the leadership of the Green Congress of Kenya, a new political wave, one that values people, planet, and prosperity is rising and we shall be in this space together,” Alila emphasized.
Under this green agenda, the GCK government has plans set to among other things empower communities to lead in forest conservation and large-scale reforestation. Enforce strict accountability measures for industries and individuals polluting our rivers and lakes and invest heavily in wildlife protection and sustainable management of national parks as key drivers of eco-tourism and green jobs.
