Power Blackout in Kiambu and Migori Counties on Thursday October 30th

Residents and business owners in the affected regions are advised to plan accordingly
Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption that will affect parts of Migori and Kiambu counties on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
In a statement released on X on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the company said the maintenance exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve electricity supply and reliability across the country.
According to the notice, the planned outage will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm in selected areas of the South Nyanza and North Eastern regions.
“Please note that the following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 30th October 2025,” Kenya Power said in its public notice.
Under the South Nyanza Region, Kenya Power noted that the blackout will affect parts of Migori County, including Kehancha, Taranganya, Kobinto, Komasicha, Senta, Nyamotiro, Nyaroa, Masangwa, Nyabikokori, Ntimaru, Wangirabose, Igena Itambe, Angata, and Gwikonge, as well as surrounding customers.
For the North Eastern Region, the statement listed parts of Kiambu County, specifically Nazareth and Kimorori, as the affected areas. Other locations set to experience the outage include Gatatha Farmers, Kimorori, Kawaida, Black Petals, Koba Waters, Taka Taka Solutions, Nazareth Hospital, Sycamore, and Gatono Village, along with adjacent customers.
The utility company regularly conducts such maintenance works to upgrade the electricity network, reduce unplanned outages, and enhance safety and efficiency.
Residents and business owners in the affected regions are advised to plan accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period.
