Nairobi United Coach Oduor aims high ahead of tough test against Sofapaka
The 2025 Mozzartbet Cup winners Nairobi United will be aiming to climb up to eighth in the Sportpesa League as they face bottom of the league side Sofapaka F.C tomorrow, Saturday 14th March at Kasarani Annex, kick off set at 1:00 P.M
Nairobi United head coach Geoffrey Oduor expressed confidence on getting a positive result against the 2009 league winners, although he noted that against the bottom side, he expects a tough contest.
The early afternoon encounter promises to be a spectacle as Naibois look out for revenge after Batoto Ba Mungu emerged winners in the first leg staged at Dandora Stadium.
On that Saturday afternoon, the Naibois fresh from qualifying to the group stages of the Caf Confederations Cup were humbled 3-0 by the former champions in a shocking result that caught many by surprise.
Sofapaka will be hoping to benefit from the new manager bounce as they aim to salvage their faltering season after appointing Edward Manoah as their new head coach.
Speaking ahead of the match, Nairobi United head coach Geoffrey Oduor noted: "Of course every team that is in the league is aiming to get points. Our urgency to win will be very key, we therefore don't look at the position of the opponent, but rather aim for the win and get the three points"
Wonder boy Kevin Wangaya who has brought alot of positive energy in the Nairobi United dressing room with his exceptional talent and positive vibes is confident the Naibois will get the job done.
"We don't underate any team, there is a reason why they are in the league. This is football and anything can happen, but we are going with the mentality of getting the three points."
