Ligi Ndogo Youth Conquers Under 17 East Africa Title
The 2005 Kenya Private Schools national champions Ligi Ndogo Youth Pipped Shammah Splendid Centre 1-0 to clinch the Ligi East Africa Cup 2026 at Impala grounds on Sunday, August 23rd, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The all important goal was netted in the 34th minute for Ligi Ndogo Youth to be crowned as the under 17 ae category champions
In the semis, Shammah Splendid Centre edged out 2-1, while Ligi Ndogo Youth squeezed 4-2 past Legacy FA to the finals through penalty shootouts after a barren draw.
Nathan Njau and Ganza Nsanze were on target for Soka Talent Soccer Academy to blank Legacy Football Academy (FA) 2-0 to win the under 15 category.
Gerald Agwanda put Legacy FA into the finals against Moi Educational Centre Soccer Academy (MEC) Planets as Soka Talent beat A-GOAL Select 3-2 through penalties in the semis.

MidCity Soccer Academy routed Ligi Ndogo Planets 4-1 to secure the under 9 crown.
Goals from Jibrian Salano who scored a goal in each half and Tyrell K'habahati, Ismail Khalid won the title for MidCity as Victor Kanyi managed Planets' consolation goal.
The four-day tournament brought together more than 200 teams and thousands of young players from across Kenya and the wider East African region.
The tournament featured seven age categories — U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 — giving young footballers to compete, gain valuable match experience and showcase their talent.
Now in its 19th edition, the Ligi Ndogo East Africa Cup has continued to provide a competitive platform for youth football development, bringing together academies and teams, coaches, parents, scouts and football fans from across the region.
