NAIROBI, Kenya, July 6, 2026 …  LG Electronics East Africa and its regional distribution partner, Opalnet, have unveiled a new suite of commercial technology solutions designed to address the operational demands facing modern enterprises in the region.

The strategic portfolio signals a deepened commitment to capturing East Africa’s expanding business-to-business (B2B) market, spanning commercial real estate, logistics, hospitality and public sector infrastructure.

The partnership aims to position premium hardware as a driver of operational efficiency, while focusing heavily on localized integration. Among the newly-launched infrastructure solutions are in-built kitchen appliances, commercial HVAC solutions, including energy-efficient Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, Multi V™ technologies and intelligent building climate management technologies that are engineered to deliver lower energy consumption. The new range also features LG's newest commercial laundry solutions, including high-capacity washers and dryers designed for hotels, hospitals, serviced apartments and institutional facilities.

These washers and dryers offer AI-powered fabric care, reduced water and energy consumption and enhanced operational uptime. Additionally, LG has now made available high-efficiency chest freezers tailored for large-scale retail and cold-chain operations as well as specialized display technology, including a flagship 100-inch QNED commercial screen.

Jane Kariuki, the Marketing Lead of LG Electronics East Africa, emphasized that industrial resilience across the region relies increasingly on targeted technology partnerships. She noted that modern enterprises require adaptive partnerships to address current macroeconomic challenges, and that true progress is achieved by co-developing solutions that directly address the localized structural bottlenecks faced by East African businesses and communities.

“We are trying to help our B2B partners grow their businesses. We totally understand that some of them may not have the financial capability, but we want them to know that, with Opalnet, they have good financial partnerships with key players in the industry. We also want them to understand that we have the technology to back them up in terms of after-sales training and that we will walk with them and grow together,” she said during a dinner showcase introducing the latest range of products to developers, engineers, B2B product distributors and other professionals.

LG's expanded commercial portfolio reflects the growing demand for integrated infrastructure solutions that improve operational efficiency while lowering total cost of ownership. Participants in the dinner confirmed their desire for technologies that combine intelligent automation, energy efficiency and long-term reliability.

Meanwhile, LG and Opalnet are keen on resolving the last-mile logistical and technical support challenges that frequently limit the adoption of sophisticated industrial hardware. Rakesh Singh, Managing Director of Opalnet, stated that advanced hardware remains ineffective without a robust, market-specific support framework. He characterized Opalnet’s role as an essential operational bridge, translating global technological innovation into scalable, day-to-day enterprise applications through dedicated local engineering and customization.

“The integration of LG’s engineering capabilities with Opalnet’s regional distribution network reflects a broader trend across East African markets, where corporate buyers are increasingly prioritizing long-term life-cycle support and operational reliability over baseline procurement costs. Most of LG’s latest products are AI integrated and we are actively working with LG to make sure that these technologies are available to Kenyans,” he added.

In addition to product availability, Opalnet will also provide technical consultation, installation support, preventive maintenance and after-sales service to ensure enterprises maximize the performance and lifespan of LG's commercial solutions. This localized support model is expected to accelerate adoption among businesses undertaking new developments or modernizing existing facilities.
