The 2027 Lamu County Woman Representative candidate, Lamu youth leader, and Founder of Waridi Foundation, Hon. Jenniffer Wairimu Waruingi, continues to represent Kenya at the 9th Africa Agriculture Science Week (AASW9) and the FARA General Assembly taking place in Abuja, Nigeria, as part of her 2026 Africa Development Tour in the West African region.

The continental conference has brought together agricultural scientists, policymakers, innovators, researchers, and development partners from across Africa under the theme: "Innovation and Partnerships for Resilient and Sustainable Food Systems in Africa."

Speaking from Abuja, Hon. Waruingi said that the conference provides an important opportunity to learn, build strategic partnerships, and exchange ideas on innovative solutions that will strengthen food security, empower farmers, promote agroecology, and create greater opportunities for young people and women.

She further noted that the knowledge, experience, and collaborative networks she gains through the conference will contribute to strengthening the agricultural sector, enhancing resilience to climate change, and accelerating inclusive development in Lamu County and Kenya as a whole.

During her visit to Nigeria, Hon. Waruingi is also expected to meet with investors, development partners, policymakers, and youth and women leaders to discuss areas of collaboration in agriculture, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. She will also have the opportunity to learn about and experience Nigeria's rich culture while fostering friendship and cooperation among African nations.

Through her Africa Development Tour, Hon. Waruingi continues to champion the vision of One Africa—one people, one continent, and one African passport—to facilitate the free movement of people, trade, innovation, and strengthen the unity of our continent.

"Africa's future will be built through partnership, innovation, and visionary leadership."
