KPC Foundation has launched INUKA Mentorship Program aiming to support children with disabilities to access training and facilities that equip them with essential life skills. The foundation will support ongoing programs at KISE and other institutions that run specialised programs as per every special child’s needs as a way of enhancing social inclusion and economic self-sufficiency.

Speaking during the launch of a three day mentorship workshop that brought together 406 sponsorship beneficiaries at KISE, KPC Foundation Board of Trustees Member Carol Kiplagat reaffirmed their commitment to education as a catalyst for transformation.

“Education is the one investment that grows minds, multiplies impact, and yields dividends for generations. Through INUKA, we are not only enhancing access to education, but also empowering our students to lead independent, fulfilling lives and transition confidently into their careers and communities,” she said.

KISE is a semi-autonomous government agency mandated to promote education for learners with special needs and disabilities across Kenya through development of specialised curricula and offers special training teachers who work in special needs Units. KISE also conducts research, provides assessment and rehabilitation services to support inclusive education.

Themed “Rising Beyond Limits,” the INUKA program will see beneficiaries go through sessions on mental health, financial literacy, relationships, and practical strategies to overcome peer pressure, address stigma and discrimination, and navigate career planning.

KPC Foundation Board of Trustees Director Dr. Joyce Emanikor emphasized the importance of partnerships and holistic support in driving sustainable impact, noting that collaboration is key to unlocking opportunities for beneficiaries.

“Beyond paying school fees, KPC Foundation is working with various partners to provide mentorship in critical areas such as finance, dignity, relationships and mental health, ensuring our students are well-rounded and prepared for life,” she said.

The Foundation has also launched INUKA PLUS, a tertiary scholarship that supports top-performing students with disability to pursue university, college, and TVET education, ensuring continuity in learning and a smooth transition into professional careers.

Through INUKA and its mentorship, KPC Foundation continues to position itself as a key corporate champion of inclusive education empowering children with disabilities to overcome barriers, unlock their potential, and actively contribute to society.
