Kenya Bow out of Women's Africa Cup of Nations
Kenya's women's national football team Harambee Starlets wait for their maiden point in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, extended further following their 1-0 to Senegal.
A goal from Seynabou Mbengue with 10 minutes left on the clock to half-time was all that Senegal needed to secure their first win of the tournament after opening with a 2-0 loss to Algeria.
Both teams went into the match in desperate search for a win, having lost their opening matches. Kenya suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against hosts Morocco to suffer an early setback in the tournament.
With the loss, Kenya are still rooted to the bottom of Group A with zero points, while Senegal remain third but tied on three points with leaders Morocco and Algeria, with the latter set to play Kenya in their last group match on Monday, 3 August at 2300 hrs.
