TEHRAN: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed on Sunday to target Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the war with Israel and the United States continues.
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” said the Guards on their website Sepah News.
The statement came after overnight exchanges of missile and drone attacks between Iran and Israel as the war between Iran, Israel and the United States continues to expand.
The current phase of hostilities began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and several Gulf countries.
Missile Attacks on Northern Israel
On Sunday, the Israeli military said northern Israel had come under renewed attacks from Iran and from the direction of Lebanon.
The army said missiles were launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, while air raid sirens sounded along the Lebanese border and the occupied Golan Heights, according to Israeli media reports.
Israeli news outlet Ynet reported that about 10 missiles were fired toward northern Israel. Israeli air defenses intercepted some of them, while others fell in open areas.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Israeli Strikes in Western Iran
In response, the Israeli military said it had launched a new wave of large-scale strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure in western Iran.
“Shortly ago, the Israel Defense Forces began a new wide-scale wave of strikes targeting infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime in western Iran,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
The latest developments mark another escalation in a conflict that has increasingly spread across the Middle East, with repeated missile and drone attacks exchanged between the sides.
