I Don’t Support Gachagua, E-x Deputy President’s Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru States

Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has distanced himself from Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP). Njiru an advocate of the High Court has clarified that he does not support Gachagua, nor is he a member of his Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) formed by the former Deputy President seven months ago. Speaking during an interview with a local podcast on Monday, December 9, 2025, Njiru, who currently serves as legal counsel for the former Deputy President, stated that, despite representing Gachagua in legal matters, his political allegiance lies firmly with the Kalonzo Musyoka–led Wiper Party and the broader United Opposition. “I don’t support Gachagua; I support the opposition because they have prescribed the ideals that I subscribe to, and by the way, I’m not even a member of DCP,” Ndegwa said. Njiru explained that the coalition’s ideologies and mission align more closely with his own political beliefs. Asked whether he would support Gachagua if the United Opposition endorsed him as its presidential flagbearer, the outspoken lawyer said he had no objection and would back any candidate agreed upon by the coalition.
