Gor Mahia Drawn Against 2025 CAF Champions League Winners in Continental Tie

Gor Mahia have been drawn against Egyptian giants Pyramids FC, winners of the 2025 CAF Champions League, in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The winner of the two-legged encounter will advance to the second preliminary round, where they will face either South Sudan's El Merreikh Bentiu or Somalia's Heegan FC.

Gor Mahia return to Africa's premier club competition after reclaiming the FKF Premier League title last season, having missed the 2025/26 edition following a trophyless season.

The record league champions will host the first leg between Friday, 4 and Sunday, 6 September, before travelling to Egypt for the decisive return fixture a week later.

Should Gor Mahia overcome Pyramids, they would be favourites to negotiate a second preliminary-round tie against either El Merreikh Bentiu or Heegan FC for a place in the final qualifying phase.
