Former President of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) Hilary Alila has made a rallying call on Kenyans to shift focus into a green political system which seeks to use the green energy in the country's policy and administration. According to the Green Congress of Kenya (GCK) Party Leader, the time to embrace green politics in now at a time when the existential threat facing humanity today is unabated while environmental degradation and climate change continies to push the country to the edge. Alila notes that by turning to environmental friendly policies, Kenya will be able to create eco friendly jobs to tackle the runaway problem of youth unemployment as well as tackling climate change that has plagued the country. “If we all agree with one resolve, we can protect and conserve our natural resources and most importantly foster equality for all through sound policies and programs. This is what we advocate for at Green Congress of Kenya," Alila said. During his stint as the President of KPBC, Alila worked to empower upcoming boxers to use their talent into transforming their lives through sports by institutionalising the pro ranks of boxing in Kenya. It is the same vigor he intends to inject into Kenya's political administration through a green change in policy formulation. "The institutions and the entire architecture which govern and sustain our society should be, and indeed can be, guided by Green philosophies. Our youths yearn for jobs which dont exist, we can make policies to use the green energy and make jobs for them. In our rich diversity we can unite for our own good under the green umbrella,” he continued. Green Congress Party of Kenya is a fully registered political party in Kenya that subscribes to Green Politics Ideologies. The party is actively recruiting members and expanding its networks with an eye on offering a transformative leadership to the country.
