The football fraternity has joined Football Kenya Federation (FKF) NEC Member Ken Rungu and his family in mourning the passing of his beloved father, CPA John Samuel Rungu.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed led a delegation of federation officials in paying a condolence visit to the Rungu family and conveying the federation’s sympathies during this difficult period.

The delegation included FKF CEO Dennis Gicheru, NEC Member Murithi Nabea, a former FKF NEC Member who represented the Eastern Region, and other members of the FKF National Executive Committee.

Nabea, who remains a close confidant of both Ken Rungu and FKF President Hussein Mohammed, was among those who stood with the Rungu family during the period of mourning.

Ken Rungu is a long-serving football administrator who has dedicated many years to the development and administration of the game in the country. He served for more than eight years as FKF Meru County Chairman before joining the federation’s National Executive Committee, where he has continued to play an active role in football administration.

His long association with football at both county and national levels has seen him build strong relationships across the football fraternity, with FKF Governors, delegates, administrators, officials and stakeholders joining in expressing their condolences following the loss of his father.

FKF Governors, football delegates and members of the wider football fraternity also joined in standing with the Rungu family as they come to terms with the loss.

The passing of CPA John Samuel Rungu has brought together members of the football family in a show of solidarity with Ken Rungu, recognising his long-standing service and contribution to football administration in Kenya.

In conveying his condolences, FKF President Hussein Mohammed reaffirmed the federation’s support for the Rungu family and wished them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

The football fraternity extends its deepest condolences to Ken Rungu and his entire family during this difficult period of mourning.

May the soul of CPA John Samuel Rungu rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
