Mwaura ditched kuria's chama cha kazi
Former Cabinet Secretary and presidential advisor Moses Kuria's runningmate in Kiambu's governorship race in 2022, Faith Mwaura, has defected to the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Mwaura ditched Kuria's Chama cha Kazi (CCK) and announced she will be contesting for the Roysambu constituency seat in the 2027 elections on the UDA ticket. Receiving Mwaura at the party's headquarters in Nairobi was UDA national vice chair Kelvin Lunani, who encouraged women to seek elective positions in next year's polls. "After careful consideration, I found UDA values align with mine. It is for that reason I decided to leave the small river to join a bigger one," she said. Mwaura who is a Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) Director and a Board of Trustees member of the Centre for Multiparty Democracysaid she was excited and privileged to join President William Ruto's party. "I will champion President Ruto's re-election bid. I will work tirelessly towards that goal," she stated.
