“lets keep sending whatever we can to him on his number 0724590868 ( name: samuel kilonzo),” he added.
Veteran comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has launched a fundraising drive to support popular barber Samuel Kilonzo, widely known as Sam Kitiki, who is battling gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) cancer.
In a statement shared on his official Instagram account on Friday, January 24, 2026, Omondi revealed that he had travelled to Mombasa to meet Sam and pledged full support for him.
The initiative will culminate in “Kilonzo Day”, an event scheduled for Sunday at Uhuru Park, where Kenyans are encouraged to come together and contribute towards Sam’s medical expenses.
The campaign also aims to help Sam realise his dream of opening his charity barber shop, where he plans to provide free shaving services for children with autism, cancer patients, and people living with disabilities.
“Hey guys, I travelled to Mombasa to meet our brother Samuel Kilonzo. We are going to support him fully. We are organising Kilonzo Day this Sunday at Uhuru Park kila mtu akuje anyolewe tukimchangia for his cancer treatment and to help actualise his dream of opening a barbershop where he will be shaving children with autism, people living with cancer and the disabled for free,” Omondi wrote.
The philanthropist further called on all barbers and salonists to join the cause and show solidarity with Sam.
He also urged well-wishers to continue contributing via Sam’s paybill.
“Calling upon all Barbers and Saloonist to come Support him on Sunday at Uhuru Park. Lets keep Sending whatever we can to him on his number 0724590868 ( NAME: SAMUEL KILONZO) or to his PAYBILL NUMBER 303030 ACCOUNT: TNHU# GOD BLESS YOU,” he added.
Omondi on Sam’s battle
Earlier, Omondi rallied well-wishers to give Sam a fighting chance by contributing generously towards his treatment.
Omondi urged them to start sending their contributions to Sam and provided the information on how to support the ailing barber financially.
“Kwa sasa mnaeza anza kumtumia kitu ndio ajipange kuja Nairobi atunyoe (You can start sending your contributions for him to prepare to come to Nairobi to shave us),” he added.
Sam’s appeal
This comes after Sam appealed for help on Thursday, January 22, 2026, opening up about his health as he battles cancer.
He revealed that despite the health challenges, he has been showing up for work whenever his body allows, with each shilling he makes going towards his treatment.
“To anyone who reads this, I have truly given my all in this battle with GIST cancer. Even as the disease advances and the pain grows worse, I still try to show up to work whenever my body allows. What hurts deeply is seeing fewer and fewer clients each day. I give my very best, but sometimes it feels like it’s not enough,” he said.
“Barbering is my passion. It’s what gives me purpose and the strength to keep fighting. Every shilling I earn goes directly toward my treatment. To be honest, I am exhausted—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and there are moments when I feel like giving up and letting this disease take its course,
“This journey is not easy, and I can only do so much alone. Any amount, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for standing with me,” Sam added.
